Under the hood: your password is stretched into a strong key with Argon2id, which unlocks your private key to encrypt and decrypt mail with AES-256-GCM. Because that derivation happens from a secret only you hold, we can't reconstruct your key even if we wanted to.

Messages between fjell.email users are encrypted before they leave your device. We cannot read them, and neither can anyone else.

Your whole mailbox is encrypted on our servers with AES-256 — not just the messages you've end-to-end encrypted, but everything stored. Even in the unlikely event of a breach, your stored mail stays unreadable without your key.

Need to send something sensitive to someone who is not on fjell.email? Encrypt it in your browser with a password you share out-of-band, and we hand the recipient a link — the contents never reach us in the clear, and the message expires.

A calendar and address book that live alongside your mail, using open CalDAV, CardDAV, and iCalendar so they work with the apps you already use — Apple Calendar, Thunderbird, DAVx⁵, and more.

Subscribe to external calendars through a privacy-hardened proxy: fjell.email fetches the feed on your behalf, so the calendar's host never sees your IP, your device, or how often you look. Your schedule is nobody else's analytics.
